I have Willemina as a model and this look to tear apart: [link]

I've turned the long layered dress into a jumpsuit-ish outfit with a loose halter top and pouffy/bubble-like short bottoms. A large tote and strappy, furry platform sandals complete the look.

It's both loose and airy but still form-flattering.

How this dress makes sense:
The straps and ropes:
1. The longest layer of the grayish chiffon can be ripped into thin strips and sewn into thin tubes.
2. Then you braid them.. those braids are used to cinch the waist and as straps.

Red accents:
They're part of the red fur.. all cut up. A patch of it is sewn onto the large tote bag. A bit sewn to the end of the rope around the waist and bits on the shoes and a patch used as an earring.

The bandanna:
It's the printed chiffon part of the fur stole ripped and sewn back togther into a long strip. (Gosh I love saying "ripped." Lol.)

that was one of the hardest outfits to makeover..the original dress is beautiful on it's self..
personally if in reality you have to get your design out of the original dress, you'd have to add more horizontal cutting lines..as you'll construct this design by patching the cut from the original dress after cutting off the ruffles which i believe are insetted within the cutting lines...

the ballon bottom is awesome..the way you apply your allover print with shading effects are a dream like..smooth and airy...another proplem..with such fabric you wouldn't be able to make a bodice like here stand up like this....it will always slope and fold out side just from the sides of the straps !!!..
braided straps..that's genuine :)

"that was one of the hardest outfits to makeover"
Yeah. I realised that when I started to actually design something out of it. That's why I submitted so late..

This is how I imagined it:
The dress has 1 bodice and 3 layers. I didn't actually think of using the bodice anymore.. I was thinking it could be also ripped and joined together to make the ropes and braided straps. The bodice of this one I drew is made out of the MIDDLE layer.. that's more than enough material, I think.. The short bottom is made from the longest layer, now I think about it. The original bodice and the shortest layer can be used to make the straps and ropes instead.. right? Along with all those ruffles which I'm sure are made of long strips of fabric..

The bodice could have a band of wide garter at the top.. sewn just inside the top fold to keep the bodice up but not enough for the gathering/ruching effect. The garter is separate from the outside material, it's attached to the lining.. so you wont see a "cinch" at the top and the material outside will not move when the garter inside moves.. lol. That should do it, right?

well, if the dress is formed of layers then the design is 100% possible...i just can't see in the original photo if it's formed of layers or cut and sew pieces...and the band would do it but it would be a little more closer to body than u drew it...nice logic thinking though..very smart :)

Beautiful! There's no other word to describe it...:P
I like the way bits of red fur complement the jumpsuit.
